Dedication Ceremony: 1:00 PM
Location: VFW Post 8300 Grounds
(Army/Navy Game Watch Party kicks off following the ceremony!)
For eight decades, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8300 has stood steadfast in its mission: honoring and remembering the incredible sacrifices of our brothers and sisters in arms, serving our local veterans, and strengthening our community.
This December, we mark an extraordinary milestone—our 80th Anniversary—and we are commemorating it with a historic moment for our post, our families, and our community.
Dedication of the 1942 M4A1 Sherman Tank Memorial
When we first announced our restoration fund, we called upon our community to be a living part of history. We set out to preserve a rare, battle-tested 1942 M4A1 Sherman Tank—a machine made of far more than just steel, armor, and tracks. Having survived the crucible of World War II, this tank is a veteran in its own right. It stands as an enduring tribute to our nation’s military heritage and a solemn reminder for future generations of the true cost of freedom.
Thanks to the tireless dedication, donations, and support of our members and community partners, this battle-tested veteran has been restored to honor those who served.
On December 12 at 1:00 PM, join us outside as we cut the ribbon and officially dedicate this historic Sherman Tank Memorial to all who wore the uniform.
